Terms of Use

Last updated: 8 October 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Schoogle platform (the "Service") operated by Consulaw Tech Services Ltd ("Schoogle", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 to create an account yourself. Children under 13 may use the Service through an account created or approved by a parent or guardian, or through their school. If you are under 18, please read these Terms with a parent or guardian.

2. Your account

Keep your login details confidential and tell us straight away at support@schoogleuk.com if you think someone else has accessed your account. Accounts are personal and must not be shared.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful or abusive
  • Attempt to access parts of the Service or its infrastructure you are not authorised to use
  • Scrape, copy or redistribute content from the Service without permission
  • Upload malware, spam, or content that infringes someone else's rights
  • Impersonate any person or organisation
  • Use AI features to produce work you then submit for assessment as your own, where your school or exam board does not allow it (see section 8)
  • Contact or meet a learner outside the Service in a way that breaches our safeguarding rules

4. Content and intellectual property

The Service, including our lesson materials and platform code, is owned by or licensed to Consulaw Tech Services Ltd. Exam board names and specifications belong to their respective owners; Schoogle is not affiliated with or endorsed by any exam board.

You keep ownership of the content you create. By uploading it you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and process it to provide the Service. If you upload materials to the Schoogle Library, you confirm you have the right to share them.

5. Prices and payments

Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include any VAT that applies. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

Premium plans are paid upfront for 12 months and do not renew automatically. We will remind you before your plan ends so you can choose whether to buy another year.

School plans are priced per student per year as shown at checkout or in your order form, and are governed by these Terms together with any separate agreement with the school.

6. Your right to cancel

If you are a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel a purchase within 14 days of buying it. Because Premium and AI credits are digital services and content that start straight away, at checkout we ask you to agree that access begins immediately:

  • Premium: if you cancel within 14 days we will refund you, less a proportionate amount for the time you have already had access.
  • AI credits and paid library materials: once you start using credits or open a purchased material, you lose the right to cancel that purchase, as permitted by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Unused credit packs can be cancelled within 14 days for a full refund.

To cancel, email support@schoogleuk.com. We refund to the original payment method within 14 days of agreeing the refund. This does not affect your rights if something you bought is faulty or not as described.

7. Tutors

Schoogle connects independent tutors with learners. Tutors are self-employed and are not employees or agents of Consulaw Tech Services Ltd. Tutors are responsible for their own tax and National Insurance and for meeting HMRC reporting requirements.

Safeguarding

Tutors who work with learners under 18 must hold a valid Enhanced DBS check (or an AccessNI Enhanced check in Northern Ireland) and keep it up to date. Tutors must follow our safeguarding rules, keep all communication with learners on the Service, and report any safeguarding concerns to us immediately. We may suspend or remove any tutor to protect learners.

Platform fee

Schoogle charges a 20% platform fee on tutor earnings collected through the Service. For example, if a learner pays £30 for a session, the tutor receives £24 and Schoogle retains £6. The fee covers payment processing, infrastructure, safeguarding and trust and safety operations, and platform development. We will give tutors at least 30 days' notice of any change to the fee, and changes only apply to payments made after the change.

Payouts

Tutor payouts are made through Stripe Connect. To receive payouts, tutors must complete Stripe's identity verification and add a UK bank account. Tutors may withdraw their available balance at any time, subject to a minimum withdrawal of £20. Stripe usually pays funds into the tutor's bank within 1 to 2 working days. Tutors also agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement.

Paid materials

Revenue from paid Schoogle Library materials is subject to the same 20% platform fee and is paid out on the same terms as session earnings.

8. AI features

AI features (AI Tutor, Teacher Assistant, document and quiz generation) use a credit system. Free and school plans include a daily allowance, and extra credits can be bought. Credits do not expire, cannot be transferred to another account and cannot be exchanged for cash.

AI responses are aligned to UK curricula and exam specifications but can be wrong. Check important information against your teacher, your textbook or your exam board's published materials. Follow your school's and your exam board's rules on AI use: under JCQ regulations, submitting AI-generated content as your own work in assessed coursework or non-examined assessment can be treated as malpractice.

9. Our responsibility to you

We will provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. If we fail to do so, you may be entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for business losses, or for exam results, which depend on many factors outside our control. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

10. Suspension and closing your account

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, involves fraud, or puts learners or the Service at risk. Where it is safe to do so, we will tell you why. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.

11. Governing law and complaints

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in your local courts and the mandatory consumer laws of your home nation apply.

If you have a complaint, please email support@schoogleuk.com first. We aim to resolve complaints within 14 days.

12. Changes to these Terms

We will give you at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email or a notice on the Service. If you do not agree to the changes, you can close your account before they take effect and, where you have paid for a period you will no longer use, ask for a proportionate refund.
